Operational Assessment and Value Creation for an Educational Company

A PE-backed Education Services Roll-Up Sought to Embark on a Comprehensive Assessment to Improve Operational Performance and Drive Value Creation Activities

Situation: Following a series of acquisitions to create a coalition of services directed at K-12 schools, the company sought to simultaneously improve the internal operating model of two of its largest divisions while identifying opportunities to create value across the enterprise that took advantage of the breadth of services available based on the company’s expansive portfolio. 

Actions:  BIE conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the company, which included interviews and surveys with leadership and staff at the various divisions, interviews and surveys with current and former customers, and a comprehensive analysis of the company’s operating performance. We also led a series of cross-functional workshops with senior executives to review and determine value creation opportunities across the company.

Results:  BIE developed a series of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans that served as a blueprint to drive operational improvement and growth across for the company. Those plans positioned the firm to achieve significant improvements in net revenues.
